At Hillel, we celebrated our 100th anniversary during the 2023-2024 academic year. It was a record-setting year for us, during which more college students and young adults participated in Jewish life experiences through Hillel than ever before 鈥 more than 180,000 in total. At the same time, it was unfortunately also a record-setting year relative to antisemitism on our college campuses.
Shani Menna, incoming executive chair of Hillel鈥檚 Israel Leadership Network, never doubted whether she would be involved in speaking up for Israel on her campus 鈥 the only question was what form her activism would take. 鈥淚srael has always been a big part of my identity,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 in my DNA. 鈥
Hillel鈥檚 New Professionals Institute is held every year at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) for all new Hillel staff members. It is an opportunity for new professionals to connect with their peers from all over the world, and to learn about the skills and values that make Hillel special.
