Hillel at Ohio University serves hundreds of students in a myriad of ways, inspiring them to connect to other Jewish students, build stronger Jewish identities, advocate for Israel, create meaningful opportunities for themselves and others, repair the world through social justice opportunities, and explore the rich tapestry of Judaism, Jewish culture, and Jewish peoplehood. We send students to Israel several times per year via Taglit Birthright Israel and other Israel opportunities, both through our Hillel and through other organizations. We offer 6-10 highly competitive peer network engagement internships to promising, capable, and energized students in their sophomore, junior, and senior years as well as internships focused on song-leading and Birthright/Israel engagement. Our student interns and work study students are valued members of the Hillel team, and through their devotion and commitment to Jewish life on campus, we succeed in creating a vibrant Jewish presence on the campus of Ohio University and the Athens community.
