We gather to celebrate Shabbat and holidays, to share meaningful moments and rituals, to learn, to find community, to live our values of tzedek (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), to eat, to have fun, and to explore what it means to be a Changemaker.Jewishly. All Hillel events are open to everyone at Nazareth, regardless of religious background or experience, so Jewish students often bring friends, roommates, or teammates to share in Shabbat, bagel brunches, holiday celebrations, and more. In addition to offering a rich variety of events on campus, Nazareth University Hillel connects students to the local Jewish community and to internships and travel opportunities (including Birthright Israel) in the larger Jewish world. Most Hillel events take place in the Sulam Center, a shared Jewish-Muslim prayer and community space that is also accessible outside of events as a spot to study, grab a snack, or hang out. We also take advantage of nice weather in the fall and spring to gather outside as much as possible.
