Many people didn鈥檛 understand I was chronically ill. I didn鈥檛 look physically disabled.
鈥淣ot all disabilities are visible. When I began telling people that I had a chronic illness, many didn鈥檛 understand. I didn鈥檛 look physically disabled until I needed to use my cane or wheelchair to get around. My own experience encouraged me to make my campus community more inclusive.
鈥淎s a Ruderman Inclusion Ambassador at Santa Cruz Hillel, it鈥檚 my responsibility to listen to students voice their concerns about inclusivity, accessibility and mental health. I鈥檝e been working on a project to give student-led organizations a platform to make their organizations more welcoming and inclusive.
