Hillels stretching from California to Florida have created protective face coverings, many with Jewish sayings and symbols, to help students navigate campus life. Before the semester begins, make sure to snag one of these masks in-person or online.
Santa Barbara Hillel
Looking for a mask that expresses your 2020 concerns in a Jewish way? Santa Barbara Hillel has you covered. Featuring the popular Yiddish phrase “Oy Vey,” this simplistic black and white face covering will complement any outfit and of course, give your friends a good laugh.
University of Central Florida Hillel
As you brave the humidity of the Sunshine State, make sure to grab a custom mask from Central Florida Hillel. The design features a mix of Jewish symbols, campus slogans and Florida-inspired icons. Students with black and gold pride can pick up a mask on campus while supplies last.
Stony Brook University Hillel
Awash with vibrant shades of blue and red, this mask is bound to turn heads on campus. The design incorporates Jewish elements, such as a hamsa and chanukiah, and uses Hebrew script to spell “Stony Brook.” This mask is one of nearly 60 unique created by Hillel student leader Naomi Gluck, who is trying to foster a sense of togetherness in light of physical separation.
University of Alabama Hillel
Roll Tide! These red and white face coverings feature the iconic elephant mascot of the University of Alabama. For incoming freshmen, these masks are available in a , complete with a Hillel-themed cup sleeve and a list of scheduled activities. Others can receive a mask by completing this .
Michigan State University Hillel
Students can sport these neck gaiters, featuring the green and white logo of Michigan State University Hillel, during socially distanced Shabbat meals and other Jewish activities this semester. These face coverings will be available to students next month when they return to campus.
Washington University in St. Louis Hillel

Hillel at Ithaca College
This purple mask will add a pop of color to your wardrobe. Decked with Jewish stars and the word “Ithaca” in Hebrew, these face coverings were created by Hillel student leader Amit Rosenberg-Rappin.
